Details: One of South Tampa’s early residential gems, designed by architect Bayard Clayton Bonfoey, is on the market.
Bonfoey and his partner, Leo Elliot, are known for creating many of Tampa’s early landmarks. Together, the team designed the Tampa YMCA in 1909, Centro Asturiano in 1914 and Tampa City Hall in 1915. Their Spanish-influenced design earned them international design awards.
Located in Beach Park, the two-story home was built in 1925 and purchased by David H. Laney, an executive with Citizen’s Bank and Trust.
In 2017 the home went into foreclosure and was purchased by business partners, Robert Tannenbaum and Robert Gonzalez in October 2018 for $950,000.
The estate includes five bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms with 6,833 heated square feet, with another over 1,500 square feet of outdoor living.
The gated home features a traditional cigar parlor with a fireplace, a formal dining area, wine cellar, gourmet kitchen, butler area and over 800 square feet of family living room space.
