New class of businesses joins USF and Skanska mentoring program

The University of South Florida, in partnership with Skanska, has announced the 2023 class of its mentoring program.

The program, launched in 2021, was created to support the Tampa Bay region’s diverse-owned small businesses in the construction industry.

Since its inception, more than 20 local minority, woman and veteran-owned businesses have completed the mentoring program, which provides companies with training, development and partnership opportunities to help grow their capacity and develop competitive bidding processes, according to a statement.

The free, 12-week program coordinated through USF’s Office of Supplier Diversity provides guidance on subjects such as environmental health and safety, marketing and business development, as well as project accounting. This year‘s program is adding clinical simulations in conjunction with USF Health.

This year’s cohort consists of the following businesses:

•          Gulf Atlantic Engineer

•          AEC Development Partners

•          J&B Construction Services USA

•          id Designs & Co.

•          Toro Construction Services Inc dba Toro CSI
