One Liners Polk: Empath Hospice, Southern Homes and more

The Florida Polytechnic University Board of Trustees created a 15-member presidential search selection committee that will work to find the institution’s second president following the announcement that Dr. Randy Avent will be stepping down from his role as president. 

Florida Presbyterian, a retirement community in Lakeland, has agreed to an affiliation with Westminster Communities of Florida, a nonprofit senior living provider.

Watson Clinic, in Lakeland, achieved Certificates of Recognition as a Patient-Centered Medical Home by the National Committee for Quality Assurance, a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to improving health care quality. 

Southern Homes will begin construction on Clubhouse Acres, located in South Lakeland, off Clubhouse Road/CR 540, which will feature nine homesites comprised of single-family homes, ranging in size from approximately 2,400 to 3,000 square feet.

MIDFLORIDA Credit Union donated nearly $75,000 towards the creation of the MIDFLORIDA Esports Center, inside the Coleman-Bush building, in Lakeland. 

Empath Hospice, a member of Empath Health, has been granted a license by the Agency for Health Care Administration to begin caring for patients and families in Polk, Hardee and Highlands counties.
