Polar Capital opens first Tampa Bay office at Water Street

Polar Capital, a specialist asset management group, has opened its first office in Tampa Bay. It has signed a four-year, four-month lease at Thousand & One, an office tower on Water Street Tampa.

Founded in 2001, Polar Capital manages $30.9 billion in assets, across global markets, and maintains offices in financial hubs including London, New York and Singapore.

“This office provides our Global Small Company investment team with a great home to build our strategy and support Polar Capital’s growth in the United States,” said Dan Boston, head of the Global Small Company team.

According to Alastair Barrie, managing director of Polar Capital North America, the move marks a significant step for Polar Capital as it continues to expand in North America.

“This inspiring workplace reflects our commitment to building strong client relationships and supporting our team,” Barrie said.

According to A.J. Velazquez of Strategic Property Partners, the lease brings Thousand & One’s occupancy rate to more than 90 percent. Cushman & Wakefield, a global real estate firm, manages the building’s leasing.
