The Concession Golf Club to host Senior PGA Championship three years in a row

Jo-Lynn Brown May 27, 2025

The PGA of America announced that The Concession Golf Club, in Bradenton, will host the Senior PGA Championship from 2026 through 2028, beginning with the 86th edition of the event, scheduled for April 16 to 19, 2026.

It marks the first time the Championship will be played at The Concession and the first time the event returns to Florida since 2000. The Concession was selected for its challenging course design, storied history and ability to showcase the game at the highest level, according to a statement.

The Concession is a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course designed in collaboration with English golfer Tony Jacklin. The club pays tribute to the 1969 Ryder Cup moment when Nicklaus famously conceded a short putt to Jacklin, ending the match in a tie.

Nicklaus, who won the Senior PGA Championship in 1991, expressed his excitement for the event’s arrival.

“With an interesting blend of trees, water and Florida landscape, The Concession is a tremendous golf course and a challenging one,” he said. “It rewards good golf shots, and the players are in for a great test.”

The course has previously hosted major amateur and professional tournaments including the NCAA Men’s and Women’s Championships, in 2015, the PGA World Golf Championships, in 2021, and the World Champions Cup, in 2023.

Bruce Cassidy Sr., president of The Concession Golf Club, called the opportunity to host the Senior PGA Championship “an incredible honor.”

“The Concession has quickly become one of Florida’s premier clubs and we look forward to welcoming the best senior golfers in the world to our community,” he said.

The Senior PGA Championship features a 156-player field of golf legends, including major winners, Ryder Cup captains and top PGA of America professionals.
