The Raymond James Veterans Inclusion Network, known as Valor, will hold its seventh annual golf fundraiser on Nov. 1, at Innisbrook Golf Resort’s Copperhead Course, in Palm Harbor, with proceeds benefiting veterans, first responders and their families.
Organizers expect more than 200 participants from the financial services industry and the military and first responder community. Since launching the event, Valor has raised and donated more than $1.12 million to veteran-focused organizations across the United States.
This year’s tournament will support 23 nonprofit groups that provide mental health services, rehabilitation, mobility assistance, affordable housing, home maintenance and career transition support.
Retired U.S. Army Col. Gregory D. Gadson will deliver the keynote address. A West Point graduate and former Fort Belvoir garrison commander, Gadson is a decorated combat veteran, motivational speaker, actor and entrepreneur. He survived a 2007 IED attack in Iraq that resulted in the loss of both legs and partial use of his right arm. Gadson later helped inspire the New York Giants during their 2007 Super Bowl run and appeared in the film “Battleship.” He holds graduate degrees from Georgetown University and Webster University and leads Patriot Strategies.
Sponsors include Horse Soldier, returning this year as both a sponsor and beverage partner. The event will also feature a performance by The Resilient, a band formed by severely wounded U.S. combat veterans.
