About the County

What Is Hillsborough County?

Hillsborough County is the population and economic center of the Tampa Bay region, with more than 1.5 million residents across Tampa, Plant City, Temple Terrace and a large unincorporated area. The county stretches from Tampa Bay east through suburban communities and agricultural areas, putting downtown Tampa, Port Tampa Bay, Tampa International Airport and major employment centers within the same county.

That scale makes Hillsborough County a major center for development, real estate, health care, finance, technology, tourism, transportation and professional services. TBBW Magazine follows the companies and decisions shaping that growth, including major developments, corporate expansions, real estate deals, public projects and local government actions affecting businesses across the county.
