Bourbon made with honor St. Petersburg’s American Freedom Distillery is using pieces of the Twin Towers wreckage to create the bottles for its Horse Soldier Bourbon. The special edition bottle is molded by steel found at the 9/11 site. The bourbon is described by the company as “complex, wheat-forward expression, aged a minimum of eight years in New American Oak.” A portion of the proceeds of sales of the bourbon goes to maintaining America’s Response Monument, also called the Horse Soldier Statue, in lower Manhattan.
