Shumaker Advisors adds government affairs specialists

Jo-Lynn Brown October 22, 2023

Shumaker Advisors, a government affairs firm, in Tampa, has added Amy C. Bisceglia, as principal, and Michelle A. Turman, as vice president.

“Shumaker Advisors has experienced a surge in client growth, a testament to our dedication and proven track record in achieving results. Amy’s widespread state government experience and Michelle’s extensive nonprofit experience make them perfect additions as we expand our reach, and strengthen client connections, throughout Florida,” said Ron Christaldi, president and chief executive officer of Shumaker Advisors Florida.

Prior to joining Shumaker Advisors, Bisceglia worked as a governmental and business consultant in legislative, budgetary and procurement initiatives. She began her career as a legislative aide in the Florida Senate President’s office and went on to accept a position in Governor Rick Scott’s administration.

Turman has more than 30 years of nonprofit experience, as an executive and founder of Catalyst Consulting Services. In addition, she has had leadership roles on the boards of the Donate Life America, Hillsborough County Arts Council and Cultural Assets Commission, Association of Fundraising Professionals, Charitable Gift Planners of Tampa Bay, Donate Life America, YMCA and the University of South Florida Foundation.

With offices now in Florida, Ohio, North Carolina, South Carolina and Washington, D.C., in recent months, Shumaker Advisors also grew its federal team with the addition of Chris Salemme as senior vice president of federal affairs.
