► Douglas Elliman opened a new office, at 1350 Main Street, in Downtown Sarasota, led by Lisa Rooks Morris and her team, The LRM Group. 

Ian Black Real Estate celebrated its 20th anniversary.

► Sarasota County has earned the 2023 Achievement of Excellence in Procurement award from the National Procurement Institute.

► Butcher’s Mark, a modern-day butcher shop, opened at 3483 Clark Road, in Sarasota.

► Tervis, based in North Venice, appointed Hosana Fieber as its new CEO, with Rogan Donelly, the company’s current CEO, moving into an executive chairman of the board position. 

► Michael Saunders, the founder and CEO of Michael Saunders and Company, in Sarasota, was presented with the Global Leadership Award during the Leading Real Estate Companies of the World Global Symposium. 

Children First announced a $600,000 matching gift challenge led by its Changemaker Collective.

► REI Co-Op opened its first Sarasota-Bradenton location, at 161 N. Cattleman Road, in the West District at University Town Center, just off the University Parkway exit of Interstate 75. 

► Children First, a provider of Head Start and Early Head Start services for Sarasota County, announced a $600,000 matching gift challenge led by its Changemaker Collective.

► Sarasota Opera received a $60,000 Arts Appreciation Grant made possible through the Wiliam S. and Jean W. Scott Endowed Fund at Gulf Coast Community Foundation. 

► The Federal Aviation Administration’s Southern Region Airports Division named Sarasota Manatee Airport Authority CEO Rick Piccolo the 2022 Air Carrier Airport Manager of the Year. 

► Bradenton-based Gettel Automotive has acquired Stadium Toyota, in Tampa. 

► Two former Brooklyn Bagel & Deli shops, at 6970 S. Beneva Road and 999 Cattlemen Road, in Sarasota, have rebranded as Buddy’s. 

► Craig Henderson has been named chief financial officer and a senior vice president of PGT Innovations, in Venice. 

► PTM Partners, a Fort Lauderdale real estate investment and development firm specializing in opportunity zones, paid $7.5 million for the two parcels on Payne Parkway and plans to build a mixed-use development.  

► Lakewood-Amedex, a Manatee County-based biopharmaceutical company, has replaced its CEO with board chairman Peter Corr.
