⊲ Permits have been filed for a Chipotle Mexican Grill, in St. Petersburg’s Skyway Marina District, in the retail space of the Addison Skyway Marina Apartments, at 3951 34th Street South. 

⊲ Aldi opened, at 6765 22nd Avenue North, near Tyrone Square Mall. 

⊲ The Peninsula Inn, at 2937 Beach Boulevard South, Gulfport, reopened a major renovation. 

Pete’s Bagels

⊲ Engel & Völkers Madeira Beach added Evan Pedone, a real estate advisor, to the newly launched Professional Athlete Advisory Group. 

⊲ Pete’s Bagels, at 2361 1st Ave. S., St, Petersburg, has secured a lease for a 1,500-square-foot building, in Gulfport, at 1407 49th Street South, for a production warehouse.

⊲ St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport reported a significant increase in passenger activity, hosting nearly 2.5 million travelers last year. 

⊲ Flats on 4th, a $37.5 million affordable housing project, was proposed for the undeveloped southwest corner of the intersection of 106th Avenue North and 4th Street North.

⊲ Jose Bello, vice president and community outreach officer for Encore Bank, was named the 2024 chair for the Pinellas Board of Adjustment & Appeals.  

⊲ MarineMax has entered a definitive agreement to acquire Williams Tenders USA, a distributor for the rigid inflatable jet tender manufacturer Williams Jet Tenders Ltd. 

⊲ PSCU/Co-op Solutions, the nation’s premier payments credit union service organization and an integrated financial technology services provider, announced a partnership with AltaOne Federal Credit Union to provide debit and credit card processing services and support.

⊲ Spitz Wine Bar, a new concept founded by the owners of Bandit Coffee Co., has leased space, at 2520 Central Avenue, in the Grand Central District, with plans to open in the first half of 2024. 

⊲ St. Petersburg’s Design Review Commission unanimously approved a 25-story, 152-unit condominium tower proposed for 4th Avenue and 4th Street South. 

⊲ CareerSource Pinellas has relaunched orientations for its professional networking groups, held weekly at St. Petersburg College EpiCenter, in Clearwater. 

Sixteenth Square Townhomes

⊲  Construction workers are completing the final units of the Sixteenth Square Townhomes development, at the corner of 16th Avenue South and 9th Street South, in St. Petersburg. 

⊲ A new retail strip in St. Pete’s Grand Central District, the Shoppes on Central complex, at 2160 Central Avenue, will add a cold plunge spa, a tattoo business (Cleopatra Ink) and a marijuana dispensary (Gold Leaf) to its list of tenants. 

⊲ The Feinstein Group completed the exterior facade renovation of its restaurant, The Black Pearl, at 315 Main Street, in Dunedin. 

⊲ The Childs Park Neighborhood Association, in St. Petersburg, is launching a Youth Rising Initiative to encourage young citizens to get involved in civic engagement and community leadership. 

⊲ A year after it was first announced, the historic Union Trust bank building, at 895 Central Avenue, in downtown St. Petersburg, is on track to be reborn as J. Fiore’s Contemporary Steakhouse, an upscale steak and seafood restaurant, set to open in mid-2024. 

⊲ Construction of the new Speer Family YMCA, at 495 62nd Ave. NE, St. Petersburg, has completed.
