Better Together mobilizes in Tampa Bay ahead of Hurricane Milton

Better Together, a nonprofit focused on helping families and children, is deploying rapid response teams to assist those in the storm’s path.

Starting Monday, volunteers will canvass communities in Citrus, Manatee and Pinellas counties, as well as Taylor County, areas still recovering from Hurricane Helene. The organization will help families find shelter, resources and coordinate emergency care for children of first responders and those facing medical emergencies.

The organization says it plans to redirect efforts to Southwest Florida, on Tuesday, based on the impact point of Milton’s eye wall.

Better Together has assisted families since Hurricane Helene’s landfall, providing meals, supplies and emergency assistance. Similar efforts took place following Hurricane Ian, in 2022.
