College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving ready to take flight at Red Bull Flugtag 2024 in Tampa

Jo-Lynn Brown October 29, 2024

College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving has been selected to participate in the 2024 Red Bull Flugtag event on Nov. 9, 2024, in Tampa.

Out of more than 1,000 applicants, the team returns after its 2011 performance, with a new flying machine designed to represent its vision of “hauling intergalactic space junk,” highlighting its commitment to innovation and environmental protection.

The “HUNK of Flyin’ Junk” is a zero-emission rocket truck, made entirely from debris collected during hurricane relief efforts, in which the team hauled over 500 truckloads of waste. The craft will be piloted by CJ, the College Junk Hunk, and co-founders Nick Friedman and Omar Soliman.

In addition to entertaining the audience, the College Hunks team aims to support U.S. Hunger, a nonprofit that has provided more than 5 million meals to communities in need. They also plan to raise awareness of childhood hunger and highlight their initiative to provide free moves for domestic violence survivors, during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, in October.
