The Save The Kids Foundation’s Gatsby Gala brought together philanthropists, industry leaders and advocates to support pediatric cancer research.
The event’s highlight was the recognition of Dr. Mildred Duncan, a researcher at the University of South Florida, who received the Disruptor of the Year Award for her work in developing treatments for Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumor, a rare and aggressive pediatric cancer.
Duncan, who holds degrees from the University of California and the University of Florida, met with a standing ovation as she accepted the award.
The gala raised funds to support Save The Kids’ mission of advancing pediatric cancer research. The event featured speeches, an auction and live music, underscoring the foundation’s goal of accelerating treatment options for children.
Save The Kids Foundation supports research, raises awareness and provides assistance to children and families affected by pediatric cancer. The organization collaborates with researchers and medical professionals to develop new treatments and work toward a cure.
