$5 million in gifts boost teacher excellence at Berkeley Prep

Berkeley Preparatory School has received $5 million in endowment gifts from two Tampa Bay families, funds that will directly support teaching excellence at the school.

The Shah Family and the Taneja Family made the contributions during the 2024–2025 school year. Nita and Rupesh Shah committed $3 million to the Berkeley Endowment for Teaching Excellence, which supports initiatives that attract and support forward-thinking educators.

The Taneja Family—Supriya Taneja, along with Manju and Jugal Taneja—donated $2 million to create the Taneja Endowment for Teaching Excellence in Specialized Instruction. The fund is designed to help the school retain top talent in high-impact subject areas.

Berkeley Preparatory School is a coed, independent Episcopal day school, in Tampa. It serves more than 1,400 students and is ranked as Tampa’s top private high school by Niche.com.
