The U.S. Small Business Administration is offering low-interest disaster loans to Florida residents, nonprofits and small businesses affected by severe storms and a tornado that struck, on June 25.
The declaration covers Pinellas County and neighboring Hillsborough and Pasco counties. Loans are available for physical damage and economic injury, with interest rates as low as 2.813% for homeowners, 3.625% for nonprofits and 4% for businesses. Payments are deferred for the first 12 months.
Applicants may borrow up to $2 million for business losses and up to $500,000 for home repairs. An additional 20% may be available for mitigation upgrades such as storm shelters or wind-resistant garage doors.
The Largo Public Library’s Disaster Loan Outreach Center is open through July 28. SBA staff are available to assist applicants.
The filing deadline for physical damage applications is Sept. 8. The deadline for economic injury applications is April 8, 2026.
