AdventHealth has broken ground on a freestanding emergency room in New Port Richey, adding capacity along the State Road 54 corridor as population growth drives demand for faster access to care in West Pasco.
The more than 13,000-square-foot facility at 6523 State Road 54 will include 12 patient beds, on-site imaging with X-ray and CT capabilities, a dedicated laboratory and multiple treatment bays. The project is scheduled to open in winter 2026.
The facility will reduce travel time for patients and first responders in an area where nearby emergency options remain limited.

“As West Pasco County continues to grow, so does the need for convenient access to emergency care,” Andrew Santos, president and CEO of AdventHealth North Pinellas, said in a statement. “This new emergency room represents our commitment to meeting our community where they are.”
The facility will handle cases from minor injuries to life-threatening emergencies and is expected to create about 35 jobs.
State Sen. Ed Hooper, who represents District 21 in Pinellas and Pasco counties, called the project both a health care and economic investment for the region.
“This project is about making sure residents have access to critical services where they live, while supporting first responders and creating jobs,” Hooper said.

AdventHealth continues to expand its footprint in Pasco County as health systems compete to serve one of the fastest-growing areas in the Tampa Bay region.
HuntonBrady Architects designed the project and Batson-Cook Construction is leading construction.
