Kolter Urban released new renderings of the Hyatt Centric Harborside hotel planned for its 1000 Boulevard of the Arts development, offering the latest look at a project that will bring 174 hotel rooms to Sarasota’s waterfront.
The hotel is under construction as part of the developer’s 20-story mixed-use project overlooking Sarasota Bay. Plans call for more than 7,000 square feet of meeting and event space, a resort-style pool, a pool bar and a ground-floor restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating.
The project is taking shape near The Bay Park and Sarasota’s cultural district, where a wave of residential and mixed-use development has reshaped the downtown waterfront in recent years. New condominium towers, apartments and hotels have followed public investment in the bayfront, drawing developers to some of the city’s most valuable land.
The newly released images show guest amenities and public spaces oriented toward the waterfront, including outdoor gathering areas and dining venues designed to serve both hotel guests and local residents. Those spaces will form part of a larger development that combines hospitality and residential uses on a prominent site along Boulevard of the Arts.
The hotel will operate under Hyatt’s Centric brand, which focuses on urban and tourism-oriented destinations. Sarasota has become an increasingly active market for those projects as population growth, tourism and investment continue to drive development throughout the downtown core.
Kolter Urban has not announced an opening date for the hotel.
