Goodwill opening Bargain Barn inside former Tervis Headquarters

Goodwill Industries-Manasota will open a Bargain Barn at the former Tervis headquarters in Venice on July 23, bringing its by-the-pound retail concept to the nonprofit’s regional sustainability and logistics center.

The store, at 201 Triple Diamond Blvd., sells donated clothing, housewares, textiles and other goods by weight through rotating bins that are restocked every 30 minutes throughout the day.

The 54,189-square-foot Triple Diamond Sustainability and Logistics Center serves as Goodwill’s regional distribution hub, processing donated goods for resale, reuse and recycling. Revenue from the Bargain Barn supports the nonprofit’s workforce development programs, including job training and employment services. Goodwill said it reinvests nearly 90 cents of every dollar into those programs.

“The Goodwill Bargain Barn is where community generosity becomes community opportunity,” President and CEO Donn Githens said in a statement. “Every item customers discover here began as a donation from a neighbor in this community. When they shop the bins, they are supporting job training and employment for individuals working toward financial stability, and they are helping ensure donated goods continue to serve a purpose.”

Goodwill said it repurposed or recycled more than 100 million pounds of donated goods in 2025, including textiles, furniture and electronics. During the same year, the nonprofit served 7,527 individuals, provided 44,538 hours of education and training, placed 1,296 people in jobs and assisted 478 veterans.

The Goodwill Bargain Barn will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. A grand opening celebration is scheduled for July 23, with iHeartRadio hosts Maverick and Lulu broadcasting from the store from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
