Tampa General Hospital Foundation has received a $5 million gift from philanthropists Frank and Carol Morsani to enhance emergency services at TGH Brooksville, marking the first major philanthropic investment since TGH Brooksville, TGH Spring Hill and TGH Crystal River joined Tampa General’s academic health system in 2023.
The donation will support future emergency services at TGH Brooksville as Tampa General continues expanding healthcare services in Hernando County following its acquisition of the three former Bravera Health hospitals, which now operate within the health system’s Community and Specialty Hospital division.

The Morsanis, longtime Brooksville residents, said they hope their investment inspires additional philanthropic support for TGH Brooksville and TGH Spring Hill, allowing more residents to receive care closer to home.
“Carol and I chose to support TGH Brooksville because strong healthcare changes lives and strengthens our community,” Frank Morsani said. “We hope this gift will advance innovation, support caregivers and bring hope and healing for generations to come.”
The Frank and Carol Morsani Foundation has donated millions of dollars to healthcare, education and arts organizations throughout the Tampa Bay region, making the couple among the area’s most prominent philanthropists.
The gift also represents an important milestone in Tampa General’s long-term strategy to expand its presence outside Hillsborough County. The health system added Brooksville, Spring Hill and Crystal River hospitals in 2023, extending its academic health system into Hernando and Citrus counties.
