Habitat for Humanity Tampa Bay Gulfside broke ground Thursday on a new affordable housing development in Lealman, a Pinellas County community where 26 families will have the opportunity to become homeowners.
The development, called Lealman Heights, will include 26 townhomes built to provide affordable homeownership opportunities. The nonprofit marked the start of the project with a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday, Oct. 15, bringing together local leaders, supporters and community members.
The project is part of Habitat for Humanity Tampa Bay Gulfside’s work to expand access to homeownership across the region. According to the organization, the Lealman Heights development is intended to provide 26 families with the stability that comes with owning a home.
The groundbreaking announcement did not specify the project’s construction cost, expected completion date or home prices.
