London-based DSi Compliance has opened its second U.S. office in Wesley Chapel, bringing its AI-powered investigative technology to Tampa Bay as it looks to build relationships with defense and law enforcement organizations near U.S. Central Command and U.S. Special Operations Command at MacDill Air Force Base.
DSi Compliance, which established its first American operation in Virginia in 2021, has moved into the SMARTstart @ the Grove Entrepreneur Center through the Pasco Economic Development Council’s SMARTLandings program. Pasco EDC has already introduced the company to the Pasco Sheriff’s Office and its Florida’s Forensic Institute for Research, Security and Tactics, known as F1RST, as DSi works to establish a presence in the region’s defense and law enforcement markets.
The company develops artificial intelligence software that searches audio recordings, video footage and electronic documents for information relevant to investigations, including names, places, dates and other details. Its platform, which combines two products called DS-Keywords and DS-Investigator, can also recognize slang and dialects in audio recordings, helping investigators sort through large volumes of digital evidence.
Alongside those business introductions, DSi is preparing to launch its first internship program in December through a partnership with Saint Leo University, giving students cybersecurity training from personnel with backgrounds in the U.S. Army and law enforcement. Pasco EDC has also connected the company with Pasco-Hernando State College as it develops relationships with local workforce partners.
“Launching in Pasco is a huge step for us and marks our second office in the US,” said Bradley Geppert, DSi Compliance’s CEO. “As we go from strength to strength, we’re pleased to be launching our first ever internship programme – partnering with Saint Leo University to offer students the chance to learn from our teams – something we hope we can roll out countrywide over time.”
The Oct. 29 announcement did not specify how many employees DSi expects to hire in Pasco County, how much it plans to invest in its Wesley Chapel operation or whether its introductions to local agencies have produced contracts.
