Israeli cybersecurity company selects Tampa for regional headquarters

Cybecs, an Israeli cybersecurity company, will establish its regional headquarters in Tampa.

The company plans to create 150 jobs, over the next three years, in roles such as information technology, software development, sales and human resources.

“We were looking to expand with an office in the Eastern time zone, particularly the Southeast, and Tampa stood out to us because of the strong tech presence here,” said Asaf Levy, chief executive officer of Cybecs. “We’re excited to build a strong team in Tampa, tapping into the deep pool of tech talent that this growing city has to offer.”

Cybecs, which offers technology services to counter cyber threats for global operations, says it will initially lease space in downtown Tampa.

The Tampa Bay Economic Development Council provided a community and labor market overview to make the case for Tampa.

“We continue to see interest from not only technology companies but also international companies choosing Tampa to launch or expand their [United States] operations,” said Angel Gonzalez, chair of the Tampa Bay EDC and regional president of SouthState Bank. “We welcome Cybecs to our community, which is another great addition to our thriving technology and cybersecurity ecosystem.”
