Donations being accepted through Florida Disaster Fund

The Florida Disaster Fund is collecting donations to help support Florida’s communities impacted by Hurricane Ian.

The Florida Disaster Fund is the State of Florida’s official, private fund established to provide financial assistance to our communities as they respond to, and recover from, times of emergency or disaster.

Florida’s first lady Casey DeSantis announced the state charitable effort underway to help victims of Hurricane Ian, earlier this week.

In partnership with public, private and other non-governmental organizations, the Florida Disaster Fund supports response and recovery activities.

Donations to the Florida Disaster Fund are made to the Volunteer Florida Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, and are tax-deductible.

The list of corporate donors, so far, includes Publix, Florida Blue, TECO, Duke Energy and more.

Tampa Bay Buccaneer Quarterback Tom Brady has also helped to promote the fund.
