Melting Pot Social opens this week in downtown Tampa (PHOTOS)

Melting Pot Social, or MeltSO, opened its doors in the Ave Tampa Riverwalk apartment building, at 105 West Tyler Street.

The menu is New American food and modern fondue, in addition to flambéed flatbreads, melted raclette and fondue burgers, handhelds, chef-curated entrées, and more, according to a statement.

The menu also has create-your-own cheese and chocolate fondue, served hot and melted for every table, along with dippers like pickle fries, churros, macaroons and more.

“To pay homage to our hometown, MeltSO will introduce signature cocktails like the 813 Spritz, the TPA and the Smoke on the Bay Old Fashioned featuring spirits from local craft distilleries. We serve local craft beer on tap and even feature Big Storm Wavemaker as the beer base in our cheddar cheese fondue,” said Executive Chef Jason Miller, in the statement.

The concept is from Tampa-based Front Burner, owners of Melting Pot.

In addition to celebrating its grand opening, MeltSo collected donations from its family and friends patrons in the days leading up to the opening to the public. All told, the restaurant donated $10,000 to three Tampa Bay area charities including Glazer Children’s Museum, Tampa Museum of Art and the Straz Center of Performing Arts.

Melting Pot Social will be open for dinner seven days a week, starting May 22, weekday lunch, starting May 23, and weekend brunch starting May 27.
