Sundial renovations set to begin in February

Owners of Sundial have signed a contract with Create Building Company, a full-service construction company based in St. Pete, to begin renovating the shopping and dining complex, on February 1.

Sundial, located at 153 2nd Avenue North, in downtown St. Petersburg, will feature multimillion-dollar improvements intended to revitalize the, once upscale, retail shopping center. The plans were conceptualized and designed by St. Petersburg architect Behar and Peteranecz.

In the summer of 2023, it was announced that Forbici Modern Italian would be moving into the space previously occupied by Locale Market.

At the time, Michael Connor, president and chief executive officer at Paradise Ventures, an owner of Sundial, said it was one of the additions that would bring new life to Sundial.

“Our central goal in the redevelopment of the Sundial is to not only recreate the community gathering space the Sundial is known for but improve the overall experience for guests,” says Connor. “Many St. Pete visitors and residents have relied on the Sundial as an engaging area to dine, shop and enjoy drinks. Tenants such as Locale Market helped shape the Sundial into a key destination to mingle, have fun and conduct business.”

Serotonin Centers, an anti-aging clinic, will also move into Sundial. It will take over a 3,000-square-foot space previously occupied by Marilyn Monroe Glamour Room.

Paradise Ventures owns Sundial, in partnership with Tampa-based Ally Capital Group.
