Things to do: GLOW24’s Women in Business Conference

GLOW24, which stands for growth, leadership, ownership, well-being and wealth, will hold its 2024 Women in Business Conference, on March 28, at Hotel Haya, in Tampa.

The conference features Rita Lowman, of the HooperWill Group, as keynote speaker, and several other Tampa Bay leaders including Tampa Bay Business & Wealth’s Chief Executive Officer and Publisher Bridgette Bello. The closing keynote speaker is Lennise Germany, CEO of Livy O’s Culinary Services.

Other speakers include:

Ashley Butler, Ice Cold Air

Rose Lejiste, RL Engineering and Tech Solutions

Roberta James, Fidelity Investments

LaKendria Robinson, The Orenda Collective

Terri Sherman, TDS

Dr. Traci Thompson, Dr. Traci’s House

Lowman is a 45-year veteran in the banking industry who has blazed trails for the industry throughout her career. Her career highlights include serving as president of Pilot Bank, chief operating officer of C1 Bank and managing 23 acquisitions including the NationsBank/Barnett acquisition, in 1997, where she was awarded the Crystal Grenade.

She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Caldwell Trust Company and Encore Bank. Lowman has earned numerous awards including Businesswoman of the Year by Tampa Bay Business Journal, a Power 100 member, Guy King Mental Health Champion, Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce Woman of Influence and, most recently, Florida Trend named her a 2023 Florida Legend.

Germany is the founder and CEO of Livy O’s Culinary Services. From humble beginnings selling meals from the trunk the family vehicle, in 2014, under her leadership Livy O’s has thrived to servicing thousands of meals, per day, for charter schools and rehabilitation facilities, and is a preferred vendor for the USDA, performing wedding and banquet catering. Livy O’s was one of 16 caterers to perform at the 2021 NFL Super Bowl. Germany serves as committee chair for the Minority Enterprise Program at the Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce, is a volunteer for Metropolitan Ministries of Tampa and is a past board member of the YMCA and the South Tampa Bay Chamber.

The conference runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Limited tickets remain available for this event.
