A day in paradise: Metro Lagoons are popping up in Tampa Bay (PHOTOS)

It’s a little slice of paradise, in Pasco County. The Metro Lagoon, at Mirada, opened in 2023, but it’s still expanding and word is getting out. Located in San Antonio, the Mirada Lagoon is the largest in the United States, with 33 million gallons of water in the man-made lagoon that spans 15 acres. If lounging isn’t your thing (I mean, I guess it might not be!), there are plenty of activities including kayaking, a water obstacle course, a water slide and a splash pad area for children.

There are poolside food and beverage options available including a swim-up bar.

Other locations of the lagoon include Wesley Chapel and Wimauma.

Make reservations if you plan to visit on the weekend, it often reaches capacity. ♦
