Visit Tampa Bay brings local art to global stage as sponsor of London Art Fair

Jo-Lynn Brown January 14, 2025

Tampa Bay’s artistic talent will take center stage at the 2025 London Art Fair, with Visit Tampa Bay serving as the event’s exclusive, Destination Sponsor.

Local artist Ya La’ford will be featured prominently, highlighting her bold geometric artwork, on an international platform, from Jan. 22 to 26.

La’ford, known for her work that reflects Tampa Bay’s cultural and historical identity, expressed excitement about representing the region. “The Bay area art scene is a vibrant and dynamic tapestry,” La’ford said. “I hope to inspire everyone in attendance to experience the rich beauty, and unique sense of community, which make Tampa Bay a must-visit destination.”

La’ford and Visit Tampa Bay President and Chief Executive Officer Santiago C. Corrada will participate in a panel discussion, alongside London-based artist Jason Bruges, who has one installation in Tampa and plans to unveil two more this year. The discussion will focus on the impact of public art in building community connections, according to a statement.

“Tampa Bay’s art scene captures the essence of our history and culture,” Corrada said. “We’ve seen firsthand how art can transform neighborhoods and foster community, and we’re excited to share that story on a global stage.”

Adding to the Tampa Bay presence at the fair, local artist Dylan Perry will lead interactive art activities during a media event at London’s Globe Theatre, hosted in partnership with Brentford Football Club.

The London Art Fair sponsorship is part of Visit Tampa Bay’s broader marketing campaign in the United Kingdom which includes digital advertising, out-of-home placements in high-traffic locations and partnerships with travel platforms such as Expedia and Skyscanner.
