Tampa Bay Chamber Foundation receives $1 million TD Ready Challenge grant to support small businesses

Jo-Lynn Brown March 21, 2025

The Tampa Bay Chamber Foundation has been awarded a $1 million grant through the 2024 TD Ready Challenge, an initiative by TD Bank aimed at supporting nonprofits that help underserved communities. The funding will expand the foundation’s Minority Business Accelerator by launching the Empower Sustainability-Focused Accelerator program, designed to assist alumni in scaling their businesses.

The new program will address challenges in second-stage business growth including management structure, process systemization and culture development. By providing resources tailored to minority entrepreneurs, the initiative aims to expand capacity, create jobs and drive long-term economic impact.

The TD Ready Challenge is an annual initiative that funds organizations working to improve financial security, sustainability, community connectivity and health outcomes. This year’s focus was on innovative programs that help underserved small business owners overcome barriers to success.
