Bay Food Brokerage celebrated the opening of its new headquarters, at 5201 W. Laurel Street, in Tampa’s Westshore Business District.

The newly renovated 12,000-square-foot building nearly doubles the size of the company’s previous office space. The ribbon-cutting ceremony welcomed about 150 guests including staff, clients, business partners and community leaders such as Tampa Mayor Jane Castor and Tampa Bay Chamber President Bob Rohrlack.

“In 1993, when I started Bay Food Brokerage, I never imagined we’d grow into a space like this,” said founder and chief executive officer Cammie Chatterton. “I started in a 400-square-foot office with no employees. Today, we have 76 employees, across eight states, and a building that will support our growth for years to come.”

Bull-headed determination runs in the Chatterton family

Chris Chatterton, president of Bay Food Brokerage and son to Cammie, noted the new building was designed to support continued expansion while enhancing the employee experience.

“We’ve been on a strong growth path for the last 10 years,” he said. “This space offers the size, location and modern features to support our team and meet client needs, well into the future.”

The new office includes a commercial test kitchen, large meeting and conference rooms, a video production studio and wellness spaces like The Oasis Café and a Recharge Room. Creative touches include a Tampa-themed mural by local artist Trinity Rivard, a 300-gallon aquarium and a history wall showcasing company milestones.
