Bruce Cassidy Sr. to chair 2026 Senior PGA Championship at The Concession

Jo-Lynn Brown August 13, 2025

The PGA of America has named Bruce Cassidy Sr., president of The Concession Golf Club, as general chair of the 2026 Senior PGA Championship, scheduled for April 16–19 at the Bradenton course.

Cassidy will lead a host committee of more than 50 division and committee chairs and more than 1,000 volunteers, while also assisting with sales and community outreach in surrounding counties.

Cassidy, who became the club’s majority owner in 2009, has overseen several major tournaments including the 2015 Men’s and Women’s NCAA Championships, the 2021 WGC-Workday Championship and the 2024 World Champions Cup.

Before entering the golf industry, Cassidy founded Excel Mining Systems, in 1990, and served as president and chief executive officer for nearly 20 years. The Ohio native is also chairman of Loop Media.

“For more than a decade, our team has worked diligently to shape The Concession into a world-class, tournament-ready course,” Cassidy said. “I look forward to helping guide our championship committee as we welcome players and fans from around the world.”

The 2026 Senior PGA Championship will be the first of three consecutive tournaments hosted at The Concession. Established in 1937 at Augusta National Golf Club, the championship features a 156-player field that includes major champions, World Golf Hall of Famers, past Ryder Cup captains and PGA of America golf professionals from across the country.
