Nearly 50 students at St. Petersburg College are expected to benefit from a new round of Fuse scholarships thanks to a $250,000 donation from Suncoast Credit Union.
The gift, made through the Community Foundation Tampa Bay, will be recognized Tuesday, Aug. 19, at 10:30 a.m., at a check presentation at SPC’s EpiCenter. The Helios Education Foundation will match the donation.
Fuse, a partnership between SPC and the University of South Florida, provides an opportunity for students who complete their associate in arts degree at SPC, and meet academic requirements, guaranteed admission into select USF programs. The program also provides advice, mentorship and financial assistance.
The collaboration between SPC, USF, Suncoast Credit Union, Helios Education Foundation and LEAP Tampa Bay College Access Network underscores a shared commitment to increasing college completion rates in the region.
