The South Tampa Chamber has launched a charitable foundation to raise money for scholarships, leadership programs and community initiatives as the organization enters its second century.
The launch comes as the chamber celebrates its 100th anniversary and seeks to expand its role beyond business advocacy and networking by pursuing charitable and educational programs.
The chamber announced the formation of the South Tampa Chamber Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization that will enable it to solicit tax-deductible donations, pursue grants and support community projects throughout South Tampa and the Tampa Bay region.
Chamber leaders said the foundation will focus on education, leadership development, economic vitality and civic engagement. The organization also plans to support resiliency initiatives and programs that improve the quality of life in the communities it serves.

In addition, the foundation will support military personnel, veterans and their families through partnerships with nonprofit organizations and community groups.
Among its priorities are providing scholarships and grants, conducting research, publishing studies and supporting educational and community-based initiatives. The foundation also plans to work with charitable organizations, trust funds and other foundations that share similar goals.
The South Tampa Chamber, founded in 1926, represents businesses throughout South Tampa and has expanded its programming in recent years to include leadership development, advocacy and community engagement.
“As the South Tampa Chamber celebrates its 100-year anniversary in 2026, the creation of the Foundation represents an exciting new chapter in expanding our impact and deepening our commitment to the community we proudly serve,” the chamber said in its announcement.
