Sun City Center hotel doubles in value with $6.5 million sale

The Rodeway Inn in Sun City Center has sold for $6.5 million, more than twice what the property fetched in its previous sale eight years ago.

The property occupies nearly 2.9 acres and includes 89 hotel rooms across three buildings, a commercial swimming pool and about 43,500 square feet of heated space. Portions of the hotel were built in 1962, 1973 and 2002, according to county records.

The hotel last sold for $2.9 million in 2018, making the latest transaction $3.6 million higher, or about 124% more, than the previous sale.

Ashiyana Hotels LLC sold the property at 809 N. Pebble Beach Blvd. to UMIYA SC Investments LLC, which financed the acquisition with a $4.988 million loan from PCB Bank, according to county records.

The sale documents do not indicate whether the new owners plan to renovate the hotel or retain the Rodeway Inn brand.
