20 Questions with Yvette Segura

Yvette Segura provides leadership to the 3,700 USAA employees across Tampa and is the senior company officer in Florida. Her responsibilities include serving as the primary company representative to regional civic, industry and military organizations. She is also the senior on-site integrator/coordinator for community affairs, corporate communications, facilities, information technology, business continuation and people services. She is an active member in the community and enjoys volunteering her time. She will serve as the Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce’s chairwoman in 2021.

Trinity University.

2. Last book you read?
The Color of Law: A Forgotten History of How Our Government Segregated America by Richard Rothstein.

3. Last place you vacationed?
Panama Canal.

4. PC or Mac?
PC.

5. Guilty-pleasure food?
Big Mac (once per year).

6. We’ll find you on the weekend doing?
Boating.

7. Biggest fear?
Frogs.

8. Proudest moment?
First-generation college graduate.

9. Dream dinner companion?
John Legend.

10. Any pets?
Not anymore, but had two dogs.

11. Who did you last text?
My chief of staff.

12. What is your cellphone wallpaper image?
Leopard print.

13. What do you listen to in the car?
NPR.

14. What is your go-to drink order?
Really nice cabernet.

15. Favorite candy?
Tootsie Roll.

16. Do you suffer from Primenesia (ordering something from Amazon and forgetting about it)?
I can’t remember.

17. Pool or beach?
Pool.

18. Charity you support?
A number of them, but homelessness and hunger are on my mind right now.

19. Favorite childhood memory?
Hanging out with my dad.
