Jennie Granahan Tarr appointed to Thirteenth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission

Governor Ron DeSantis has appointed Jennie Granahan Tarr, an attorney with Shumaker, to the Thirteenth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission, which recommends judicial candidates in Hillsborough County.

Tarr brings more than 35 years of legal experience including leadership roles in the Hillsborough County Attorney’s Office, where she advised on litigation, social services and regulatory matters. She played a key role in advocating for the county’s indigent health care surtax and has provided legal counsel to various public entities including CareerSource Tampa Bay and the Hillsborough County Hospital Authority.

Tarr has served on The Florida Bar Grievance Committee and held leadership positions in the Hillsborough County Bar Association and the Hillsborough Association for Women Lawyers.

“It is an honor to be appointed by Governor DeSantis,” Tarr said. “I look forward to working with my fellow commissioners to ensure the selection of qualified and ethical candidates for the judiciary.”
