SeacatLine has added a third vessel to its Costa Rica–Tampa Bay route.
The M/V Progreso joins the M/V Pia Express on the weekly service between Puerto Moin and Port Tampa Bay, offering a five-day transit time and added cargo capacity. The expanded schedule aims to provide more flexibility for regional shippers and importers. The Progreso made its inaugural call in Tampa on May 27, and is scheduled to arrive in Costa Rica on June 4.
The company’s M/V Juice Express will now operate bi-weekly, calling every other Thursday and Friday, in both directions.
Port Tampa Bay leaders say the service expansion reflects rising demand for reliable refrigerated cargo routes into Central Florida.
“Costa Rica remains a vital trading partner,” added Raul Alfonso, executive vice president and chief commercial officer. “This added frequency and flexibility help us better serve the growing logistics hub here in Central Florida.”
SeacatLine operates out of the Port Logistics Refrigerated Services terminal at Port Tampa Bay, which includes a 135,000-square-foot cold storage facility, a dedicated berth and 168 reefer plugs.
