Riverview’s new 211 unit community opens to first residents

Riverview has added a new multifamily project to its growing region.

Wingspan Development Group and ABC Capital have opened The Whitt to its first residents. The 211-unit apartment community is located at 6908 Simmons Loop, just under 15 miles from downtown Tampa.

The project introduces new supply at a time when Riverview’s population has increased from 95,849 to 110,321 between 2020 and 2025, a 15% rise that has driven demand for quality housing near large employers, schools and I-75.

Jason Macklin, vice president of development for Wingspan, said the region’s growth created strong demand for new residential options.

“The Whitt is ideal for families and healthcare professionals who want Riverview’s affordability with quick access to Tampa,” Macklin said.

Centered on convenience

The community sits next to St. Joseph’s Hospital South and is within 2 miles of Doby Elementary, Eisenhower Middle and Jule F. Sumner High.

Its location east of I-75 connects residents to Tampa’s restaurants, nightlife and outdoor recreation.
