Trader Joe’s is opening a store in Sarasota, Fla., adding another location in one of Florida’s fastest-growing coastal markets.
The California-based grocer plans to open the store at 8199 S. Tamiami Trail, according to an updated list of upcoming locations posted on its website. The Sarasota store was among nine additions to the company’s “opening soon” pipeline this week.
The expansion adds to Trader Joe’s growing presence in Florida, where the chain also has planned stores in Orlando and West Palm Beach.
Sarasota has attracted an influx of retirees, remote workers and higher-income households in recent years, fueling new residential and commercial development across the region. The South Tamiami Trail corridor, where the store will open, has become one of the area’s busiest retail stretches.
