Homebuilder buys into 2,500-home pasco community

Mattamy Homes has acquired 145 homesites in the Verona master-planned community in Land O’ Lakes, adding another project to the builder’s growing Tampa Bay portfolio as it continues expanding across the region’s housing market.

Home sales are expected to begin in summer 2027. The acquisition gives Mattamy 145 single-family homesites within Verona, a 2,500-home community being developed by Eisenhower Property Group off State Road 52.

Mattamy plans to build 73 homes on 40-foot lots and 72 on 50-foot lots, offering 13 floor plans ranging from 1,787 to 3,067 square feet. Model homes are expected to be completed before sales begin.

The Land O’ Lakes community follows the builder’s projects announced in South Tampa, north St. Petersburg, Lithia, Palmetto and Zephyrhills, extending a strategy of adding communities across urban, waterfront and suburban housing markets rather than concentrating growth in a single area.

Verona will include approximately 2,500 homes built by multiple builders while preserving roughly 2,000 acres as open space, agricultural land and recreation areas under a restrictive covenant with Pasco County.

Located about four miles west of Interstate 75, the development will feature a clubhouse, pool, fitness center and other amenities scheduled to open in summer 2027.

Mattamy is the largest family-owned homebuilder in North America and operates in 11 U.S. markets, including Tampa and Sarasota.
