10 TIPS for a memorable New Year’s Eve PARTY

Let’s be real… New Year’s Eve celebrations are more often than not a major let down. Parties that bore, expensive events that are over packed and understocked, and pre-set dinners with poor service have all become the norm. I’m here to help you make your NYE bash a party to remember so you can kick off  2019 in style.  Here are my 10 Tips for hosting the ultimate NYE Party!

Save the Date
The holidays are a crazy time of year so get on your guest’s calendar as soon as possible and send a digital invite as far in advance as possible. Follow it up with a formal invitation.

What  to wear, what to wear?
Let your guests know what to expect by including the attire on your invite and check the weather. In Florida we never know what to expect in December so have some heat lamps on stand-by in case of a cold front if your event is outside.

Make it Shine
New Year’s Eve is all about the glamour, so be sure to add lots of sparkle to your décor. Leaving up your Christmas decorations is totally ok and keeps the holiday spirit going. Add some glitzy linens and you’re good to go.

All about that Bass
Hire a DJ or a band to handle the tunes for the night. They’ll know how to get the party started and keep it going.

Photo
Create a fun backdrop for your guests to take pictures in front of with NYE themed props and hire a professional photographer to be on-site. You can also rent an open air photo booth and guests can take their photos home with them or upload directly to their social sites.

Get Social
Did the party really happen if it wasn’t on social media? Create a fun and unique hashtag for your guests to tag all their photos for everyone to see.

Feed your Guests
Don’t let your guests drink on an empty stomach. Provide easy to eat bites with a modern presentation and avoid anything that requires a fork and knife.

Bottoms Up!
NYE is all about that bubbly so stock up on the champagne and be sure to have the appropriate glassware.

Service Please
Enjoy your party and let the servers take care of your needs. Hire a bartender, have servers to pass appetizers and champagne before the count down and most importantly make sure someone is there to help clean up once your guests leave. Nothing is worse than waking up to a messy home with a hangover on New Year’s Day.

10 Ring in the New Year!
If you don’t have a view of the fireworks from your event be sure your televisions are set to watch the ball drop and countdown to the New Year! Cue to those corny NYE props and noise makers … they make for great photos.♦
