Modera St. Petersburg

Modera St. Petersburg, a 20-story apartment building being developed by Mill Creek Residential, had a topping out ceremony, at 201 17th St. S., in downtown St. Petersburg.

►  A project of Leadership St. Petersburg, The Allendale Equity & Justice Center will become St. Petersburg’s first nonprofit organization to provide free collaborative workspaces for changemakers.

Tampa Bay Wave, a Tampa-based nonprofit group for the entrepreneurship community, opened its St. Petersburg office at 136 Fourth St. N.

Cork Room, a wine bar, is set to open on the ground floor of 357 Fifth St. S., St. Petersburg.

► Clearwater’s new concert venue has been named The Sound at Coachman Park. 

St. Petersburg’s Plant Love Ice Cream has opened a second location, in downtown Gulfport, at 2901 Beach Blvd. S., Unit 105. 

► Coffee shop  Rose’s Coffee Bar is planning to open on the ground floor of the Moxy Hotel by Marriott, which is currently under construction, at 1234 Central Ave. 

The St. Pete City Council unanimously approved an agreement that will bring up to 500, shared, electric bicycles to downtown St. Petersburg. 

The Clearwater Marine Aquarium was named the No. 2 aquarium in the country, following nationwide voting, in the 2023 USA Today’s “10 Best Reader’s Choice” travel awards.

Marinemax, based in Clearwater, received recognition in the 2023 Tampa Bay American Advertising Awards, which gives accolades to the area’s marketing agencies, brands and students.

Power Design, in St. Petersburg, was awarded a 2023 Top Workplaces USA award, in the 2,500-plus employee category, for the first time in company history—ranking 20th in the country. 

Colliers expanded its commercial real estate brokerage team, in the firm’s Clearwater location, with the addition of Charlie Hart as senior associate, commercial services.

Cresco Labs, an integrated multistate cannabis operator, opened a new Sunnyside medical cannabis dispensary at 35098 U.S. Highway 19 N., in Palm Harbor. 

Kahwa is opening two new locations, at 400 45th Ave. S. and 6623 Fourth St. N.

Squaremouth, a travel insurance marketplace headquartered in St. Petersburg, has hired Rupa Mehta as its new chief executive officer, succeeding Jessica Burns.
