► 4 Rivers Smokehouse opened its 15th restaurant at The Shoppes at Lake Miriam Crossing, a retail and dining destination located at 4729 S. Florida Ave., in Lakeland. (Pictured above)

Vegetation Cafe and Kitchen, a vegan restaurant, opened at 1437 E. Gary Road, Lakeland. 

The Lakeside Village shopping center, in Lakeland, has sold for $77.93 million to Continental Realty Corp., a Baltimore-based real estate investment firm. 

► Tryp Air Charter, a charter operation in Tampa, expanded its services in Nashville and appointed Chaz Bragg to handle charter sales, exclusively in the Nashville area.

► Polk County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller Stacy Butterfield was honored as Clerk of the Year at the Florida Court Clerks and Comptrollers annual training conference. 

The Polk County Board of Commissioners approved Dale Henderson as the new director of Polk County’s waste and recycling division. 

The Florida Small Business Development Center at the University of South Florida added a new location, at 502 E. Main St., Lakeland. 

International Aero Charters, a Federal Aviation Administration-certificated air carrier, has launched a new, on-demand air charter operation at the Lakeland Linder International Airport

The city of Lakeland named Rob Hernandez as its new assistant city manager. 

AdventHealth broke ground on a new emergency room, in Winter Haven, on Cypress Gardens Boulevard. 

Lakeland’s Southeastern University launched a new trades program designed to train students in trades such as construction technology, project management, plumbing electrical fields and more.
