Tampa-based Ellison Construction is set to begin construction of a new single-family home on the Davis Islands property previously owned by Derek Jeter and rented by Tom Brady.
Construction of the project is led by Ellison Construction, known for its work on Ybor City’s Hotel Haya, Tampa Heights’ Armature Works, Downtown Tampa’s Sparkman Wharf, Bayshore’s Stovall House and the Oxford Exchange.
“We know this is one of the most-watched pieces of real estate in Tampa Bay and we’re excited to give everyone a first look at the special family home coming to this unique location. As a company, we love to be involved with projects that have exceptional design and this is a unique opportunity to showcase world-class design, on Tampa’s waterfront,” said Casey Ellison, chief executive officer, of Ellison Companies.
In addition, Ellison Construction will partner with Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough County for the project’s initial demolition stage. Crew from Habitat will assist in removing materials of the standing structure, like cabinets and appliances, which if salvageable, will be donated to Habitat’s Restore stores.
Plans for the new home include green features including rainwater harvesting, maximizing daylight and a chilled water air conditioning system. The project is being designed with environmental stewardship in mind and Ellison plans to seek LEED certification for the home.
Plans for the 30,000-square-foot home include six bedrooms, nine full bathrooms, 11 half-bathrooms and a gym. Annette English, with the Landry Design Group, is designing the interior.
Construction on the home is expected to begin in 2024 and take about three years to construct. The family’s name isn’t being disclosed at this time.
