New College of Florida, in Sarasota, is debuting a version of its liberal arts degree, in Spring 2024, that will feature classes offered through distance learning, supported by live video-conferencing seminars and discussion groups so that it will be accessible to students everywhere. 

Comcast completed a three-year, $22 million infrastructure upgrade project, in Sarasota County, to bring its Xfinity 10G Network and advanced telecommunications services to industrial parks, retail sites and large residential developments across the county. 

Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation has named Shana Meadows director of finance and operations.

Win Chevrolet Properties bought a 39,000-square-foot office building, at 5413 State Road 64, in Bradenton, for $8.8 million. 

Salt & Light Holistic Spa, at 2453 Sycamore St., in North Port, is doubling its space and adding a retail component as part of the expansion. 

Northern Trust Wealth Management named Kirstin Fulkerson, known in the Sarasota area for her work with the Gulf Coast Community Foundation, as a wealth strategist in the Sarasota-Charlotte market.

The Boatyard, a landmark mixed-use waterfront property, on Siesta Key, was sold to Chris Brown, a Sarasota-area entrepreneur, real estate investor and co-founder of the Above the Bar Hospitality Group.

Neuro Challenge Foundation for Parkinson’s, a Sarasota nonprofit dedicated to improving the quality of life of people with Parkinson’s and their caregivers, has named Jennifer Bitner as CEO.
