Margaritaville comes to Port Tampa Bay

Margaritaville at Sea’s newest ship has arrived in Port Tampa Bay for new departures, setting sail this month. The new ship, “Islander,” provides a variety of family-friendly offerings and entertainment options to create a personal paradise.

Entertainment aboard includes live music, outer deck adventures, an all-ages lounge and arcade and a first-ever, challenge course that combines cornhole with mini golf.

“The new Islander is packed with an exciting variety of active and interactive ways for cruisers of all ages to enjoy their fun in the sun,” Margaritaville at Sea Vice President of Entertainment Karen Maybury said. “The new lineup of programming and activities designed specifically for children, teens and families will greatly enhance the cruise experience, creating unforgettable memories for all of our guests.”

Offerings on the ship include a Caribbean Amphibian Play Pad and Slide, which is designed for young adventurers. The attraction includes an elevated play space, waterslide and splash-and-spray lily pad.

Another activity zone for the whole family allows friendly competition by combining cornhole and mini golf into a singular challenge, while a pickleball court offers more family-friendly competition.

Other attractions include a defying gravity experience, an arcade and lounge, a signature pool with music, drinks and bites and a coral reef lounge complete with family karaoke, comedy acts and more.

Four kids programs are available for kids ages 3-17, including “Jolly Mon” for kids 3-5, which includes ocean-inspired games, mermaid storytelling and visits from characters. For kids 6-9, the “Parakeets Kid’s Club” offers games, a mini DJ academy, sports, a ship tour and a crazy hat party. Kids 10-12 can enjoy “The Hang Out,” which includes games, sports, DJ academy sessions, magic workshops, a glow party and more. And for teens 13-17, the ship’s “Far Out” program includes a movie night, a nightclub takeover, a scavenger hunt, percussion workshops and a Tik-Tok/Instagram content battle.

The ship includes 12 passenger decks and accommodates 2,650 passengers in 1,105 fully redesigned staterooms reminiscent of sand, sea and sky.

The ship first departs June 14 on a four-night itinerary, from Port Tampa Bay to Cozumel, Mexico.
