Business leaders will partner with Tampa Bay schools for a day of impact

More than 150 business leaders from the Tampa Bay area will participate in the sixth annual CEOs in Schools event on Friday, Nov. 1.

The program, organized by the Hillsborough Education Foundation, Vistra Communications and Hillsborough County Public Schools, offers executives the chance to spend a day in local classrooms, connecting with principals, teachers and students.

The initiative aims to bridge the gap between business and education, fostering partnerships that drive academic and personal growth for students. CEOs will gain firsthand insight into the challenges schools face, while offering their expertise to support future leaders.

“This program goes beyond a one-day experience — it’s about building lasting relationships that benefit students and the community,” said Anna Corman, president and chief executive officer of the Hillsborough Education Foundation.

Founded by Vistra President and CEO Brian Butler, in 2019, CEOs in Schools has grown into a large community event. Leaders from various industries use this opportunity to share their skills, while learning about the needs of the public school system.

Superintendent Van Ayres emphasized the value of the business community’s involvement.

“We’re excited to welcome these CEOs back to our schools and witness the positive impact they bring,” Ayres said.
