A Kid’s Place of Tampa Bay launches $8 million capital campaign (RENDERINGS)

Jo-Lynn Brown October 24, 2024

A Kid’s Place of Tampa Bay, a nonprofit residential foster care provider, announced the public phase of its $8 million “Building a Brighter Future” capital campaign.

The funds will be used to acquire property and build a 12,000-square-foot activity center on its Brandon campus, as well as renovate a home for extended foster care housing.

The campaign has raised $5 million, since launching in February 2023, and is seeking an additional $3 million. The activity center will have therapy rooms, a computer lab and vocational education spaces. The renovated home will house older youth transitioning out of foster care.

Beth Bradburn, chief financial officer of Homes by WestBay, chairs the board of directors and the campaign steering committee. Construction Services Inc. of Tampa, owned by former board member Fred Lay, will donate general contracting services for the project.

A Kid’s Place provides a home for up to 60 foster children from Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco counties. Construction on the new center is expected to begin in January 2025.
