The University of South Florida has announced another major donation. The Gonzmart Family Foundation has gifted the school $1 million to support its new on-campus stadium.
The Gonzmart Family Foundation, led by Richard Gonzmart, Casey Gonzmart Sr., Andrea Gonzmart Williams and Casey Gonzmart Jr., represents fourth- and fifth-generation owners of the Columbia Restaurant Group.
Richard Gonzmart emphasized the family’s dedication to initiatives that uplift the community, noting that the new stadium will create a “world-class experience” for students and alumni alike.
“The Gonzmart family’s support will enhance our gameday experience and strengthen our community,” said USF President Rhea Law.
The stadium, set to open in 2027, is envisioned as a central gathering place, bringing students, alumni, and the Tampa Bay community together. USF Foundation CEO Jay Stroman expressed gratitude for the Gonzmart family’s “transformative impact” on the university’s future.
Earlier this week, The Horton Family Foundation, led by Oscar and Miriam Horton, pledged $1 million to support the on-campus stadium, set to break ground Nov. 8.
